‘The expo was a fantastic platform for us,’ remarks Gary Stockenstroom, product manager at Canon South Africa. ‘The calibre of visitors was outstanding and the interest in our solutions proved there’s real momentum in this space. Our stand’s backdrop, printed on our Colorado, really set the tone – visually striking and a great testament to what Canon can do.’
At the heart of the buzz was the imagePRESS V series – a next-gen digital press range built to thrive in high-demand environments. Whether tackling short-run or high-variety jobs, the V900, V1000 and V1350 deliver sharp output, rock-solid registration and impressive throughput, all with Canon’s hallmark reliability.
For large-format professionals, the imagePROGRAF PRO-4600 drew plenty of attention. Its LUCIA PRO II ink system produces vivid, gallery-quality prints, ideal for everything from retail campaigns to fine art reproductions. Enhanced durability, energy efficiency and dual-roll productivity features made this a standout for visitors wanting both performance and sustainability.
And for monochrome production, the varioPRINT DP140 proved its mettle. Compact yet powerful, it’s a favourite for CRDs and commercial printers aiming for top-tier black-and-white prints without compromising environmental values – thanks to zero emissions and energy-smart technology.
Canon also used the platform to hint at its bold ambitions in the packaging arena. ‘We’re stepping into packaging with purpose,’ Gary shares. ‘With machines like the LabelStream 2000 coming soon – and the corrugated solution on the horizon for 2026 – this was our chance to get a feel for the market. Propak was a fantastic first step.’
