More than 128 waste pickers were successfully registered on the Amplo system and issued official waste picker cards, unlocking access to service fee payments and formal recognition within the value chain. To further support attendees, 150 Pick n Pay food hampers were donated on the day.
The initiative reflects Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in action – advancing inclusion, improving livelihoods and reinforcing the vital contribution waste pickers make to the country’s growing circular economy.
