What is the central theme of CCL Label’s presence at interpack?
Our focus is on designing labels that support recycling systems rather than disrupt them. Too often, packaging components unintentionally interfere with recycling streams. By engineering labels with precise material behaviour in mind, including density, shrink performance and clean separation, we help improve recyclate quality while maintaining visual appeal.
Which technologies best demonstrate this approach?
EcoFloat® shrink sleeves are a strong example. Produced from low-density polyolefin, the sleeve material floats during PET recycling while the heavier PET bottle fragments sink. This enables efficient separation in sink-float recycling processes, allowing high-quality PET recyclate to be recovered for bottle-to-bottle reuse. The technology has been recognised by organisations including RecyClass and the Association of Plastic Recyclers, and has also been approved by South African PET recyclers.
Are there new developments in the EcoFloat range?
Yes, we will introduce EcoFloat® White, designed for light-sensitive products. It allows brands to transition from opaque packaging to clear PET bottles while maintaining product protection. This improves recyclability and enables better material recovery in PET recycling streams. Clear PET bottles are the packaging type that can truly be recycled back into food-grade containers, effectively closing the loop.
What other solutions will visitors see at the stand?
We will also present WashOff™ pressure-sensitive labels, engineered to detach cleanly during industrial washing processes used in refillable glass and PET container systems. This supports efficient container reuse while maintaining branding.
In addition, our recyclable mono-material pouch structures combine strong barrier performance with lightweight construction, helping brands reduce material usage while supporting circular flexible packaging solutions.
