‘The personal approach of Xeikon and local dealer Thunderbolt gave us confidence and we were able to buy the complete solution – the press and the finishing equipment – from one supplier,’ explains Kevin van Dyk, Spec Systems’ MD. ‘While evaluating the Xeikon technology we found the print quality to be superior and when we discovered that it can print on standard label substrates without the need for pre-treatment the choice was obvious; this is the basis for an easy implementation.’
According to Filip Weymans, Xeikon’s director of business development and marketing, Labels & Packaging, printing companies in remote regions are increasingly understanding Xeikon’s offering. ‘We’re delighted that Spec Systems realises that we have top products and that our approach of offering complete solutions, including software and workflow, finishing and service, fits perfectly with their needs. It’s just a matter of time until the MEA area will fully embrace digital label printing, and Spec Systems is in the forefront .’
The Xeikon 3030 is the entry level member of the Xeikon 3000 series of digital label presses. It offers the capability to upgrade in the field in both speed and width, to meet future needs. It has five printing stations and thanks to full rotary printing technology its speed is unaffected by the number of colours used and the size of the labels.
[Ed’s note: A similar press was an eye-catcher on Thunderbolt’s stand at Propak (see page 21).]
