This is a real feather in Kamboo’s cap and fits neatly with other agencies such as the Fife line of sophisticated web-guiding and inspection systems; and products from the Ferag stable, such as inserting, packaging and bundling lines that streamline postpress and mailroom operations for newspaper and magazine printers. Conveniently adding to the Ferag connection are Denipro’s conveying systems. Like Ferag, Denipro belongs to the Swiss-based WRH group, a structure that brings considerable synergy to the marketing of both companies’ products.
As Hannes remarks, ‘All our products are sold to the same category of customers and they’re all highly complementary; and we’re delighted to add QuadTech to the list.’
Comments Karl Fritchen, president of QuadTech: ‘The team at Kamboo Marketing has more than 80 years’ combined experience of the newspaper, commercial and package printing sectors. We’re very pleased to have them representing QuadTech, because they truly understand customers’ needs. We share the same philosophy of building solid professional relationships to ensure customers grow and succeed.’
Adds Hannes: ‘Printers and brand owners demand printed product that are 100% correct. It’s more imperative than ever for them to have top-quality controls to secure profit margins. We’ve agreed to represent QuadTech because the company is always at the forefront of new developments that the industry needs.’
Kamboo also represents Ferag, Segbert, Fife, Klöckner Pentaplast and Toray in the printing and packaging industries. Among current customers are Astrapak, Caxton/CTP, Kimberly Clarke, Nampak and Paarl Media.
QuadTech’s comprehensive product-line up for newspaper, commercial and packaging markets ensure consistent quality and reduced waste, boosting profit margins for printers and converters.
QuadTech offers significant automated control solutions for commercial and newspaper printers.
For commercial printers, QuadTech’s Color Control System with Instrument Flight and SpectralCam, controls colour, solid ink density, three-colour grey balance and mid-tone dot-gain – throughout the production run.
QuadTech’s closed-loop colour-to-colour register and ribbon control technology utilises the proven MultiCam register cameras that makes adjustments at press speeds up to 17,8m/sec.
QuadTech’s Register Guidance System also provides fan-out control software, automatically keeping the system in lateral register across the width of the web. Other recent enhancements include anti-embossing and ink guiding capabilities.
Hannes is also excited about QuadTech products for packaging printing and converting operations where lean, cost-controlled production methods and quality consistency are increasingly vital as global brand owners seek local sources of packaging and expect the same standards everywhere in the world.
QuadTech’s Color Quality Solution provides in-line colour and ink control. It comprises in-line spectral data obtained from QuadTech’s SpectralCam, ink formulation data from X-Rite and technology from ink dispensing system suppliers. Any colour deviations are automatically captured and rectified immediately throughout the press run.
The ability to measure colour information in-line on all web-fed package materials, along with a high-resolution view of dot structure is also possible using Color Measurement System with SpectralCam HD with QuadTech’s patent-pending web stabiliser technology. This enables fast in-line inspection and spectral colour measurement on substrates including transparent, supported, unsupported, reflective and various laminates.
The QuadTech Inspection System inspects the entire substrate width 100% of the time throughout the entire press run. It suit gravure, offset, flexo or digital processes, and wide to narrow web widths.
Another product available for packaging printing is QuadTech’s Autotron 2600 Register Guidance System with ClearLogic. This system achieves accurate register regardless of ink, speed or substrate. It can be used on a wide range of difficult materials such as BOPP, metallised film, and high-gloss cast polypropylene. Scanning heads that identify a wide range of pale and low-contrast marks with precision ensure accurate repeat print copy, thus eliminating waste.
Helping to market this impressive range of equipment to South Africa’s printing fraternity is Russel Muller, and both he and Hannes are shortly visiting QuadTech’s US headquarters for in-depth training on the company’s comprehensive range of systems.
