With this in mind, Sacmi Dairy is a vertical and horizontal integration within the Group. The start-up point is Benco Pack, a Sacmi Group company that has dominated the dairy sector for a long time with its form fill- seal (FFS) and sterile filling technologies. Sacmi Dairy is the result of the union between the state-of the- art CBF (compression blow forming) and roll-fed-sleeve technologies of Sacmi Verona (shrink-wrap label application directly from the film on the reel).
Sacmi’s CBF bottling machine, which includes distinctive and advanced technology, is being shown at Anuga FoodTec, demonstrating an application for producing containers and classic packaging for yoghurt, desserts and similar products.
The renovated Benco Pack FFS packline, with its patented application developed by Sacmi Verona, is also on show for labelling applications. Thermoformed 250g to 500g containers are sealed and labelled to perfection, directly from the film in the reel, in a fully automated process managed by one operator and suitable for compact space.
A significant point to note is this line’s ISA – Integrated Sleeve Applicator. Modular and faster, with its enhanced motor trolley, as well as being easier to clean through use of a cam for sleevers not inserted with the collection box, the applicator is precise and provides high-performance with production speeds that reach 30 000 sleeves/hour.
The innovative tab reading sensor and elements that minimise line downtime through its vapour system make restarts faster, completing the benefits of this solution. The suction and air blowing system also minimise defects, eliminating excessive vapour in the prefixing and shrink-wrapping zone.
At Anuga FoodTec, Sacmi is presenting its series of innovations designed specifically for the dairy sector while on the horizon is the expansion of the machine range with additional research for other types of resins in the same technological platform.
