‘Since Paragon’s launch 25 years ago, the company has dedicated itself to a win-win approach to business, offering the web printing industry an alternative choice for inks, service and business solutions,’ he says.
Paragon Inks has now completed the construction of a new bespoke ink facility. Five years in the planning, this state-of-the-art plant, just a few miles from the company’s original base, reflects its core philosophies and values, as every member of the Paragon team had a say in its development and construction – from factory layout to light fittings. These philosophies and values are an integral part of Paragon’s current and future global business positioning.
‘The new, one-site global manufacturing site allows us to provide our unique “global guarantee” not only to products but to additional services that complement and work in conjunction with our products, giving our customers real added value and business solutions on a global scale, with the personal touch,’ Shaun says.
Paragon’s new sails not only encompass new ink technology launches, but also a platform to secure the future direction of the web printing industry.
‘The flagship is the new site – a simple way of looking at it but poignant too,’ explains UK & international sales manager, Amanda Jones (who is well known in South Africa as a regular presenter in the AWA DecTec Africa series of conferences).
‘With our 1 700m2 manufacturing area, bespoke laboratories housing over 50% of our staff dedicated to the web printing market, plus state-of-the-art training facilities, we have secured our long-term position as a global supplier to the market.
The main sails of new technology and specially-designed facilities are a direct creation of the flagship master plan,’ she asserts.
‘Columbus was mocked when he stated the world wasn’t flat, yet went on to change the world’s thinking …’ explains Amanda.
The alternative choice
‘As a dedicated UV manufacturer and supplier for over 25 years, our forward-thinking has identified a need for product diversification – the need to deliver and conquer what has been growing in demand – a product that can perform as well as solvent-based and UV products, on supported and unsupported stocks, but without the impact of environmental and legislative problems that are seen the world over,’ she continues.
This diversification has now arrived, a revolutionary product range that will give today’s printers and end users full flexibility and compliance confidence whether printing primary food packaging, labels or shrink sleeves.
This product range is the water-based series, called Aqua. ‘Don’t mock,’ Amanda advises. ‘Like Columbus, Paragon has used out-of-the-box thinking, knowledge, experience and dedication to deliver a unique ink system, as opposed to a commodity product. The Aqua range offers an alternative choice, developed and manufactured by Paragon Inks, giving the same one-world product guarantee as delivered by our UV products,’ she insists.
To complement this bold step, Paragon Inks has also launched its future-sighted Training Acadamy.
Situated within the new site, the Paragon Training Academy offers security to the web printing industry by way of training, understanding and development.
As Shaun Bennett points out, training and knowledge are key foundations for any market or business. ‘Thanks to our beliefs and values, this academy also puts confidence, passion and motivation back into the industry by way of personal development – releasing skills, awareness and out-of-the-box thinking, and allowing companies that use our facilities to develop and grow,’ Shaun promises.
The Academy offers courses from basic UV or water-based awareness, through to bespoke ink and waste management training.
With support from co-suppliers, Paragon is able to offer a complete package of tailored courses to suit all business segments.
The message from the Paragon team is that the future isn’t flat, it’s global – the alternative choice.
