IN the relentless pursuit of perfection, ROTOCON doesn’t just sell machines –  it builds ecosystems of excellence. The company’s philosophy is simple but powerful: when quality, service and innovation align, extraordinary results follow. This ethos underpins every partnership ROTOCON forges and every solution it brings to the label printing and converting market.

ROTOCON understands that customers don’t have time for trial and error but want suppliers they can trust to deliver the right technologies, from the right partners, backed by the right support. That’s why ROTOCON only aligns itself with principals who share its obsession with precision, reliability and service.

At the core of this trust-centric approach is a handpicked group of global technology leaders – EyeC, Wink Stanzwerkzeuge, Erhardt+Leimer (E+L) and Domino. Together, these companies represent the gold standard in inspection, die cutting, automation and digital printing. And while each brand brings a unique strength to the table, they all share a common denominator: they innovate – and they execute.

ROTOCON has cultivated these relationships over many years. For ROTOCON, these partnerships are not transactional – they’re transformational, and the company works side-by-side with its partners to ensure every integration adds real value to their customers’ production lines.

EyeC’ing is believing

In an industry where even the smallest error can lead to costly recalls or rejected batches, EyeC’s inspection systems are a critical asset. Known for their unmatched accuracy and adaptability, these systems are fully compatible with ROTOCON’s printing and finishing machines. The result? A seamless, automated solution that delivers 100% quality control in real time.

‘Whether it’s pharmaceutical packaging or high-end wine labels, EyeC ensures nothing slips through the cracks,’ comments business development director Ralph Beier. ‘It’s not just about catching defects – it’s about peace of mind.’

EyeC ProofRunner Web HighLight +LabelsED

At Labelexpo Europe in Barcelona this September, EyeC will debut new AI-powered enhancements to its ProofRunner inline inspection unit, including a live demo of the EyeC ProofRunner Web Highlight on a ROTOCON ECOLINE RSH 340 finishing machine. The new EyeC Proofiler Graphic, tailored for pre-press inspection in the graphic arts sector, will also be on show – all designed to push inspection performance into the next era.

A cut above with Wink’s SmartGap

Wink Smartgap advance touch autocontrol

When it comes to rotary die cutting, the margin for error is razor thin. Wink’s revolutionary SmartGap® system, represented and distributed in South Africa by ROTOCON, enables pinpoint control over cutting depth – a vital feature for today’s high-speed, high-volume label presses.

SmartGap gives converters the freedom to adapt cutting pressure on the fly, without compromising on quality. It’s smart engineering that truly responds to the needs of modern production.

The next-generation SmartGap solution is a masterclass in engineering, featuring robust construction, dual-sided accuracy and smooth operation even under extreme conditions. These upgrades are game changers for printers chasing efficiency and durability at scale.

Inspection at speed: E+L’s SMARTSCAN

E+L Image 03ED

Label production moves fast, and thanks to E+L’s SMARTSCAN MIS2, quality control moves even faster. This ultra-compact, high-speed inspection system is built for label lines running up to 600m/min, catching everything from print defects to missing labels with surgical precision.

The system’s intuitive one-click set-up is a standout. ‘We’ve seen operators go from idle to inspection-ready in under a minute,’ says head of E+L’s sales division for print and film Dirk Schröder. ‘That level of automation and simplicity saves our customers real time and money.’

SMARTSCAN’s unique dual image acquisition method means it scans twice, ensuring twice the certainty. It’s proof that advanced technology doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective.

Digital versatility with Domino’s K600i

For converters looking to expand into variable data printing, the Domino K600i offers a compelling solution. With 600dpi resolution, UV and aqueous ink options and speeds up to 200m/min, the K600i provides flexibility without compromise.

Redfern Long Run Printers was one of the South African pioneers to adopt the K600i, citing its compact design and Domino’s patented i-Tech CleanCap system as key factors.

The K600i is a future-proof investment. From barcodes and QR codes to intricate graphics, it delivers sharp, consistent results across a range of substrates, opening up new revenue streams for converters.

Partnerships that go beyond the sale

While each of these brands will showcase their latest technologies at Labelexpo Europe 2025, what matters most to ROTOCON is not what’s on display but what stands behind it: years of collaboration, a shared commitment to excellence and a unified vision of empowering converters to meet rising demands for speed, sustainability and accuracy.

Trust is built into every ROTOCON installation and is the foundation of everything it does. The company’s ethos is that when its customers succeed, its partners succeed – and it succeeds.

It’s this symbiotic approach that sets ROTOCON apart in a crowded market. As it prepares for another standout presence at Labelexpo Europe, the message is clear: when you choose ROTOCON, you’re not just buying a machine – you’re joining a family of excellence.
