The company represents Uteco for flexo, gravure and digital printing presses as well as coating and laminating machines; BST Group for web guiding, 100% inspection and web viewing cameras; AFS and Softal for corona treatment; Camis for plate mounting; Fraser for anti-static solutions; Gama for viscosity systems; Praxair for anilox rolls and sleeves; and Temac for slitters and rewinders.
‘The idea to open a Durban branch came about many years ago because we wanted to be able to provide even better service support. We had to wait for the ideal time and staff because I’ve always aimed to rather send staff members that have been part of the team for a while and are already familiar with the industry and the customers,’ Sarel explains.
To test the water first with the Hillcrest-based branch, two employees who have been with the team for more than 10 years have relocated to Durban: branch manager Elaine September and electronics technician Macky Korah.
‘Although it only opened recently, we’ve already had people noticing our branded vehicles driving around Durban,’ comments Sarel. ‘The benefits of this branch are that the majority of our customers will receive a quicker reaction time and the Sareltech team doesn’t need to travel as often anymore.
‘In the next few years, we would like to employ more technicians at the Durban branch and also find the ideal office to have enough space to store spare parts. At this stage, we strive to let customers know that we’re readily available and that the service remains first-class,’ explains Sarel.
He adds Sareltech plans to host a roadshow with its principals in Durban later this year as part of its new branch celebrations.
‘This is a milestone for our company, and we are proud of our team members who are committed to making this venture a success and upholding our high standards. Durban is one of our important markets and it’s great that we can now provide our customers with more benefits,’ concludes Sarel.
