This is according to sales director, Matt Burton, who adds that the state-of-the-art modular system can run inline/offline at output rates of up to 150m/min in full-rotary mode or 64m/min in semi-rotary mode. It features a maximum web width of 350mm and printing width of 330mm. The SGTR (turret rewinder) can be integrated for a straight-to-box solution.

The Digicon Series 3 is particularly popular in the beverage market because of its additional modules, notably the flatbed screen and Big foot 50-ton hot foil emboss unit.

Matt adds that the flatbed screen enables exceptional embellishments in silkscreen in combination with fast set-up and increased speed and coverage. It also produces vibrant colours for maximum impact,

‘The Big foot 50-ton capacity hot foil and embossing module, offers multiple foil feeding across and along the web, creating dynamic effects and finishes that ensure a competitive advantage,’ he states. ‘Using 50 tons of pressure, ensures excellent hot foil coverage, high-quality labels that raise embossing to new levels, and guarantees brand owners’ labels will jump off the shelves.’

Both modules can be jointly fitted on the Digicon Series 3, enabling foiling and embossing in one pass to produce the finest labels. Combined with the options of multiple flexographic printheads on the Digicon, label converters can now produce the required finishes via a simplified process.

The Digicon Series 3 is fully compatible with fleyeVision, ABG’s camera inspection and editing capability, which provides automatic selection, 100% inspection and rejection of rolls with errors – without production interruptions.
