A sales team is the backbone of any company and plays a vital role in its success and the sales team at Taigan M-Stretch is a prime example of this. Led by sales director Joubert van Schalkwyk, the team is passionate about its work and constantly strives to innovate and improve the packaging industry in South Africa.
At the helm of the revolutionary ship is managing director Peter McCullough, who has over 45 years of experience in the cast extrusion and packaging industry. Peter founded Taigan M-Stretch in 2005 on three founding principles: quality, service and reliability, which the company calls its ‘Triangle of Trust’. These founding principles, combined with its industry expertise and drive towards innovation, are the central idea behind the company’s state-of-the-art t.nano pre-stretch brand and products.
Taigan M-Stretch boasts a national footprint with distribution centres in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Mbombela and Gqeberha. This footprint, which has now been extended to Namibia, allows the business to develop long-term business relationships with customers and conduct monthly site audits, offer training and maintain the best product standards.
One of the primary challenges facing the sales team is that consumers are becoming more aware of environmental issues and starting to demand more sustainable packaging solutions. This is something that is at the core of Taigan M-Stretch’s sales and business development strategy as it operates on the belief that it is important to protect our planet for future generations.
This is evident in initiatives like Taigan M-Stretch’s core swop recycling programme, where the company provides flow bins to customers so it can retrieve and reuse its green-coloured cores. This, in turn, tidies customers’ production floors, maximises operating space and minimises waste. In addition, its 33-, 55- and 67-layer t.nano extruded cast stretch film contains 30% post-recyclable waste, which makes it more sustainable and 100% recyclable. The company also offers a training programme that ensures the best packaging of customers’ products, cost-effectiveness and waste minimisation.
Through these various initiatives, the sales team is able to serve every customer’s packaging needs by ensuring cost savings per pallet, excellent before, after and continued hands-on customer service and industry-leading value-addition.
The sales team is made up of Adriaan van Vuuren – coastal region manager (Cape Town), Shane Klein – packaging consultant (Cape Town), Charl Jacobs – packaging consultant (Johannesburg), Sheldon Stoltz – packaging consultant (Johannesburg) and Glen Coertzen – Taigan consultant (Mbombela and Eswatini).
