BMSC Engineering received numerous inquiries from African countries about its products at Propak East Africa and is focused on turning those inquiries into orders.
‘The show as a whole was a success for us. Although we had some hiccups with getting our equipment into the country, once our stand was set up, it was all guns blazing,’ notes MD William Boltmann.
The company was happy with the turnout of people at the show and the variety of visitors from neighbouring countries was also great to see, maintains William. Specialising in metal detection, X-ray, vibratory equipment, metal separation with rare earth magnets, checkweighers and diamond sorting equipment, BMSC Engineering also provides custom stainless-steel fabrication to the highest food-grade sanitary standards, and received inquires from Ghana, Rwanda, Tanzania, Egypt and Uganda, amongst others about its products.
‘We would never get this kind of exposure unless we exhibit at these types of shows. The trick now is to turn the inquiries into orders. We are excited about the future and expanding our business footprint into Africa,’ concludes William.
Successful showcase
This year’s Propak East Africa featured 150 exhibitors from over 35 countries, with 93% stating that they met the goals set for exhibiting and 86% believing that their sales would increase as a result of taking part in the show. Ninety-four percent of the 4 622 visitors achieved their goals for attending the show, which ranged from sourcing new products or suppliers (60%) and gathering market information (31%) to networking (54%) and attending a conference session (23%), which featured 26 global experts.
